Pastor Howard Devenport Jr:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Ephesians 3:21, “To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever.”
Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you find what you are looking for.
Let me tell you about what you will find here at Shiloh Community Church. Our people are growing and continue to be challenged to love God, study the Bible and walk in the Spirit. It is wonderful to see how God is using His Word to change people's lives.
Jesus said in Luke 18:1, “Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart.”
In our world there is a lot of confusing information regarding the major questions of life. “Who is God? Why am I here on the earth? What does God want from me? What will happen after I die?” Have you ever asked these questions? Where does one go to find the answers? Our church is dedicated to carefully studying God's Word, the Bible, the only place where these questions can accurately be answered.
Jesus also said in Luke 11:9-10, “So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks the door will be opened.
I invite you to see what Shiloh Community Church is all about. You will find our folks to be friendly, our services to be worshipful and Christ-exalting, and our focus to be on pleasing God with every aspect of our lives. Our desire is that we would faithfully and obediently respond to God’s wonderful love demonstrated through the gift of salvation in Jesus Christ.
I hope to see you soon.
Pastor Howard Devenport Jr.
Reverend Shelton McPherson:
Have we finally discovered just how little of the fear of God we have operating in our lives today?
My advice to everyone is to Praise God, His mercy is always available without fail to the truly repentant heart. Therefore I am always glad to remind us that He is the God of tomorrow’s fresh plans, despite today’s mistake.
Reverend David Owens:
I was born in Beaumont, TX., married my wife Donna in 1974 and we have 3 children. On February 29, 1979 I preached my first sermon at Pleasant Green Baptist Church, under the leadership of James C. Franklin.
I continued to receive teaching from the ministries of Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Fred Price, and R.W. Shambach just to name a few. I also had the privilege of attending many campmeetings in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We later moved to Houston, TX. in November of 1979 and fellowshipped at Lakewood Church under the leadership of Pastor John Osteen from 1979 to 1986. I was eventually led back to my roots in the Baptist faith, to St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor W.G. Wright. There I received my Ordination in July 1996.
In 2000 the Lord led me to Shiloh Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Howard Devenport, Jr.
Reverend
Howard Devenport III:
Shiloh Community Church has been successful in helping men break the prison cycle. This success happens because we have people who will give them a chance and hold them accountable to themselves and to the community. It happens because we serve a God who changes hearts and transforms the one who committed a crime into a completely different person, a person who becomes an asset to our society. I started my prison ministry from the inside of a prison cell.
The transition back into society for ex-offenders is challenging to say the least. The percentage that end up back in prison, and the fact that it usually only takes a few months, is sad.
One of the most helpful ministries is located at the Carol S. Vance Unit near Houston Texas, IFI offers programming for 300 offenders
"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few." (Matthew 9:37)

MINSTER: Bernice Foy:
I, Bernice Foy, am a native of Houston and a mother of 3 wonderful children. I've been a child of God since my youth. Later in life I matured and began to develop a relationship with God. I have been a member of Shiloh Community Church for more than 33 years. I began serving as an usher and then became president of the senior usher board. I later developed the junior and intermediate ushers and remained president of all departments for 30 years. I have always known that I had another calling to answer to. In 1999 I confessed to the church that God called me to the one of His messengers. In 2003, I resigned from the usher department, but continued my position as teacher of the Women of Wisdom. All of my teaching and training began under the leadership of Pastor H. Devenport, Jr. After fasting and praying, the Holy Spirit gave me Hebrews 5:6 and Isaiah 61:1 to confirm my calling to the ministry. In 2005, I ac cepted my calling into the ministry. In January 2006, I delivered my first message from Matthew 5:11,12, "Who is Willing to Go?" For a victorious life, always remember Proverbs 3:5,6 - "5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
MINISTER: Meredith Banks:
I united with Shiloh as a young child in 1975. I joined the adult choir at the age of 8 where I have remained faithful for 31 years. As God began to prepare me to walk in His purpose, He spoke to me in a vision and explained His will for my life. He sent confirmation in many different ways and in April 2007, I acknowledged and accepted my call to minister the Word of God. My inaugural message was given on June 3, 2007. I am truly blessed and thankful for the love and support of my husband and three sons. I give God all the praise for what He's done in my life and for all that is yet to come. My favorite scripture of choice is Proverbs 3:6, "In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths."
Minister
Yolanda Randolph:
I've been running from God a long time, but now the time has come to move forward and do the lord's will. I have confessed my calling to the ministry and accepted God's calling on my life to do his blessed will In my first sermon I talked about "Now Is The Time". The time has come for you lift him up and praise him, tomorrow is not promised. It's time to give God all the glory, thank God for the many blessings, he has given you a new day and new beginnings. God is forgiving and merciful. I want everyone to know he is good and always on time. You must have Hope, Faith in God, Love the brotheren and believe that with God all things are possible.
MINISTER: Amy Washington:
The call to ministry can be both exciting and intimidating. But I am just so grateful that God chose me to carry His word. I know the life that I use to live, and I wonder why did He choose me. I learned over the years that God can do what He pleases because He is God. I remember when I was a little girl, and my sisters and I would get together and "play church". They would always pick me to play the role of the preacher. I would get those small "New Testament" books and opened to any book to find a scripture. I came up with any topic and we would have a good 'ole time. I never imagined that nearly 25 years later, God would use me to deliver a message to His people.
I have been singing since I was 2 years old. I love to sing in the choir even at that young age. As I got older, I figured that my purpose for God was to minister through "song". Little did I know that God had more work for me to do.
I am learning to be careful for what I pray for. I asked God (when He saved my soul) to make me and to shape me into what He would have me to be. It didn't matter to me what I had to go through, I just wanted Him to save my life. I realize that I owe God my everything. I can't pay for salvation because it is free given to us by Jesus, but I can show Him that I am grateful that He saved me.
All praises go to my heavenly Father for who I am today. Because of who He is in my life, I can face tomorrow! Be blessed!!
Reverend Clarence H. Jones Jr.:
Born in Hamilton, New York, Rev Jones has resided in Texas since the late 50’s. His call to the ministry of the Gospel started at a young age when he experienced the awesome power of God. Rev. Jones comes from a history of ministers in his family. The late Aaron Jones was his grandfather, who pastured Mt. Pilgrim MBC during the emancipation era. His Church was an early slave quarters, the small building was moved and preserved in the Piney Point area. His father, the late Clarence H. Jones, Sr. was known by many as a Prophet. However, his father did not pastor, He was ordained as a Sr. deacon, under the late Rev. John Perry.
Like many young men, Rev. Jones refused to obey God’s calling of service. Rather he ventured out and away from God and the Church. However, it was in 1977 that God got Rev. Jones’ attention. After accepting God’s call, the Lord anointed Rev. Jones and gave him His word and the gift to minister in song and music. He began preaching the Gospel and ministering in music throughout every path he took. In 1984 he became president of a local singing group, where he was able to use his gift among many people. In 1987 Rev. Jones was Ordained and Licensed under Dr. Floyd E. Lewis, at Now Testament Church. The following year he was installed in Christ Way MBC, where he continued until he lost an appeal involving a self defense plea. From 1989 until 2007 Rev. Jones ministered in prison ministries, and coordinated several chaplaincy programs.
Rev. Jones has obtained an Associate in Religious studies, Ordained as an Evangelist, Bachelor in Christian Education, and Master of Divinity from Shalom Seminary and Bible College. He is presently a candidate for his doctorate at Shalom. Rev Jones is an active member at Shiloh Community Church, where he and his wife attends. His involvement includes ministry and being one the Church’s musician.
Rev. Jones ambitions and goals in ministry are to become effective in entrepreneurship and open doors for job opportunities for others.
